Case study · BFSI · Positioning & GTM

Repositioned a ₹5,300 Cr mortgage business around trust and access.

Mortgages are an opaque, verification-heavy category where the real growth lever isn't a feature or a rate — it's trust. Fixing that meant rethinking the entire journey, not just the marketing around it.

Sector: BFSI · Mortgages Scope: Segmentation, journey mapping, partnerships
The problem

Verification was the highest-anxiety, highest-drop-off stage — and no one was designing for it.

Traditional mortgage marketing leans on rate and eligibility messaging, but for a large share of real buyers — especially those with less conventional income documentation — the actual barrier was trust in the process itself: would they be treated fairly, would their paperwork be understood, would the verification stage drag on indefinitely. That anxiety was quietly costing the business qualified applicants well before pricing ever became the deciding factor.

What we did

Segmented on documentation reality, then redesigned around the anxiety point.

Segmented on documentation reality

Moved away from income-based segmentation alone and grouped buyers by the reality of their paperwork — a much better predictor of where they'd struggle in the process.

Mapped the full journey

Traced the buyer journey end to end and confirmed verification as the single highest-anxiety, highest-drop-off stage — the point most likely to lose an otherwise qualified applicant.

Built an industry-first partnership model

Partnered with intermediaries across the entire home-buying journey — not just the loan step — so trust was built earlier and reinforced at every stage, not only at the point of application.

The result

A trust-first model, proven at real scale.
